The British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) presents the Lifetime Achievement Award annually to recognise members who have contributed significantly, and demonstrated outstanding achievements and longevity, within the field of echocardiography.
Since 2012, 20 echo luminaries have been recognised in this way.

The Advisory Council has recently reviewed the nomination process and has decided to bring it in line with other similar awards. As such, a nominations panel has been convened to gather and consider nominations. The panel will submit its recommendations to the trustees, who will make a final decision on who receives the award.
The new process is effective immediately and 2026 Lifetime Achievement Awards will be conferred based on recommendations from the nominations committee.
