New normal reference intervals eLearning module launched

Published 09/08/2022

The British Society of Echocardiography is delighted to announce the launch of a new eLearning module on our normal reference intervals.

This eLearning module is free for members and discounted for non-members of the British Society of Echocardiography due to the crucial importance of this resource to the echocardiography community.

Our Education Committee have worked hard to create a robust, educational learning experience that will cover the changes to the normal reference intervals and allow you to test your knowledge. Particular thanks go to Dr Liam Ring and the team for their work on this module.

Ms Hatty Grant, Marketing and Education Manager, said "After two years of virtual events, our renewed focus on eLearning will see the launch of new modules over the coming months. eLearning modules are accessible and flexible to suit the needs of many different learners, and we’re delighted to provide this valuable resource covering some of the most important changes to echocardiography of recent years.”

Dr Liam Ring, Co-Chair-Elect for the Education Committee and module lead, said "The reference intervals guideline represented a significant shift in the BSE recommendations for reporting key aspects of echocardiography. A detailed understanding of what constitutes ’normal’ and how that influences day-to-day practice is essential. This e-learning module will highlight and explain some of these changes and hopefully improve understanding and the quality of echo amongst our members."

As ever, learner feedback is greatly appreciated. If you do have any comments, please feel free to contact Hatty at [email protected].
