The programme looks incredible and I'm going to make sure I make time to see everything (which isn't possible in a face-to-face conference, so that's a positive right there). But if I had to chose one session that catches my attention it's the track focusing on transplant and mechanical circulatory support.

Our patients sometimes talk about the work we do in terms of 'miracles', a term we tend to avoid as we know we can only ever offer what is humanly possible. Because we see 21st century medicine being practiced every day we sometimes forget just how incredible it can be. And it can be INCREDIBLE. Patients whose hearts have failed can be supported with a variety of technologies until they can be transplanted, and it seems almost certain that these devices will continue to improve in terms efficacy and cost such that they may increasingly be available as a destination therapy.
As someone who does not get to work with these patients on a daily basis I have the required perspective to see just how amazing this is and am excited to see how we as echocardiographers can be part of the team that offers this.
