Echocardiography in Acute Care
This is a well established course to introduce focussed echocardiography and will cover the level 1 and FICE syllabus.
This course is designed for doctors involved in the care of acutely ill patients who wish to develop focussed echocardiography skills. Previous participants have included anesthetists, acute physicians, emergency medicine physicians, cardiologists and doctors in the ST1 and ST2 grades.
Topics covered will include basic science, the assessment of cardiac size and function, valvular disease and the presence of pericardial and pleural effusions.
The course is structured with a mix of lectures, case studies and small group hands-on scanning using simulators, of volunteers and interactive case studies to assess.
The cost to attend the course is £600.
