Due to exceedingly high demand for places, we've added an additional day to our March 2024 practical exam to increase capacity.
With a perfect storm caused by COVID, workforce recruitment initiatives and the implementation of the echocardiography training programme (ETP), we recognise that there has been some difficulty for our members in securing places for practical assessments in line with the two year logbook window.
As a result, we have worked to mitigate this issue by adding an additional day to our practical exam, which will now be held on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March 2024.
The additional day will allow our teams to support an extra 30 candidates through the final stage of their accreditation and reduce pressure on the next set of practical exams due to take place from April 2024.
Ms Jo Vashishta, Accreditation Manager for the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE), said, "We owe a great debt of thanks to our assessment and staff teams who have agreed to support this extra day to benefit our candidates. We appreciate the hard work that candidates put in to ensure that they are ready for this final stage and we look forward to welcoming a new cohort of accredited members in March 2024."
