#MyBSEcho2022 | ‘Nothing beats the experience of an in-person conference’

Published 03/08/2022

Dr Jamal Khan, Consultant Cardiologist and Cardiac Imaging Lead at University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, and West Midlands Deanery Training Lead for Advanced Cardiac Imaging, shares what he’s most looking forward to at BSEcho 2022.

The British Society of Echocardiography has done a fantastic job in ensuring that the annual conference has continued throughout the COVID pandemic through the online conference format. Nothing however beats the experience of an in-person conference and it will be great to enjoy that again this year. The unique hybrid format this year will however ensure that everyone can benefit from the conference with the optional online option and open it up to those with logistical or work-related commitments preventing attendance in person in full.

My role includes echocardiography workforce and service development, and I particularly look forward to the sessions on scientist/physiologist-delivered services to help optimise the development of and complex echo service delivery that our fab echocardiography physiologists can deliver in contemporary practice.

As service and training lead, the comprehensive and cutting edge programme will provide plenty of food for thought and ideas for developments that can be brought into echo services and the training programme of echocardiography physiologists and cardiology SpR trainees.

BSEcho 2022 promises to be a great conference!
