With Fellowship applications closing soon for 2021, Ms Jan Forster FBSE, Consultant Cardiac Sonographer at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust lets us know why she's proud to be a Fellow.
I am honoured to have been awarded a BSE fellowship, having been an active member of BSE for over 25 years.
The fellowship, awarded by my peers, recognises my ongoing support of echo education as well as service development within the specialist fields of congenital and fetal cardiology as Consultant Sonographer in Leeds.
I have also been able to utilise my echo skills to be involved with cardiac screening for CRY, providing obstetric sonographer training with Tiny Tickers and supporting humanitarian surgical missions in children with CHD with Chain of Hope in Africa.
I have been privileged to work with amazing teams throughout my echo career and I am really proud to be involved with the new BSE Congenital accreditation process which we hope will support BSE sonographers preforming studies in congenital patients.
