Journal-based learning
The British Society of Echocardigoraphy's open-access journal, Echo Research and Practice, is part of a free journal-based learning programme on echocardiography.
Journal-based learning supports the education of clinicians-in-training and enables senior healthcare professionals to keep up to date with the latest knowledge in their specialty.
Access the learning programme
Please register on the Bioscientifica website. Once registered you can log in to the portal to browse existing activities by subject area, keep track of progress and download certificates for all completed activities. You will also be notified by email of new activities when they are added.
Participants can earn two BSE re-accreditation credits upon successful completion of each activity within six months of its publication on the site.
Current learning activities
Some of the activities currently available include:
- Timing surgery in mitral regurgitation: defining risk and optimising intervention using stress echocardiography
- Stress echocardiography in patients with morbid obesity
- Device closure of secundum atrial septal defects and the risk of cardiac erosion
