Community care echocardiography accreditation

Community echo accreditation ensures healthcare professionals working in the community have echocardiography skills necessary to assist with diagnosis and facilitate expedited care. This accreditation aligns with the NHS five year forward view with a focus on specialist care moving out of tertiary centres and into the community.

The accreditation incorporates a tailored training syllabus which reflects the patient cohort under investigation and the clinical questions unique to the provision of care within the community. The process involves a log book of 200 cases, an MCQ Exam and successful completion of a practical exam. Following completion, accreditation is valid for five years.

Further details of the requirements to successfully complete accreditation can be found in the accreditation pack.
