Post Graduate Certificate Clinical Echocardiography

2 modules with a total of 4 block weeks (combination of face-to-face and virtual teaching) on the weeks beginning: 30th September 2024,  21st October 2024,  27th January 2025,  10th February 2025.   These will be interspersed with fortnightly virtual half day teaching sessions tailored to student’s needs (details below).

Developed to help with the national shortage of echocardiographers, the need to increase the workforce dramatically and the Nationally challenged position of echocardiography.
The modules cover normal echo parameters, cardiac anatomy, physics, and standard cardiac pathology assessment by echocardiography.
The course is tailored with the BSE transthoracic echocardiography syllabus in mind and taught by BSE accredited Cardiac physiologists with special Cardiac Consultant guest lecturers in their fields of expertise.
The programme involves an exciting blend of hands-on experience and simulation interactive sessions delivered by subject experts. To facilitate this the University has just invested £300,000 in state-of-the-art equipment.
The fee for 2024 / 2025 £7,140 – limited number of NHSE fully funded spaces.
